Don’t ask me to do my chicken math right now.  I can say there are 4 ducks. We did successfully raise turkeys this year. This is the first year we have had turkeys in the fall.

So far we have attempted to raise chicken, guinea hens, turkeys, geese and ducks. I have had the most success with chickens. Health issues have me realizing I need to go with a smaller flock though.

What colors I want in my colorful egg basket? I am greedy I want them ALL . I really want to achieve the extreme dark brown shelled egg that looks like a chocolate egg.

One of my favorite resources  I recommend is backyardchickens.com Every year when it is hatching time I go over there and join in on a hatch-along. I  started over there in 2013 with a page about my coop.
