Talking Turkey on The Harmony Homestead

Talking Turkey

This year we decided to focus on adding turkeys to the homestead. I didn’t waste any time I found some turkey eggs for sale and went to pick them up.

It has been a few weeks since they have been in the incubator. I candled them and it appears the majority of  the eggs in the incubator are developing.  One of the batches of eggs I bought are a cross between white midget and blue slate.  They are due to hatch just before St. Patricks day. Stay tuned for hatch updates.

Update  We ended up with only 2 hatching and 1 was not strong enough and didn’t survive. The one that was strong and survived I have named Blue.
