Review: Pecking Order Chicken Nest Box Turf, 3 count

Pecking Order: Chicken Nest Box Turf   After a lot of indecision, I picked up a pack of these to try out. I found them on clearance, then only to discover the clearance price paid wasn’t really any less than it is listed for at most online sites. The turf seems to be secure. I was concerned about the chickens trying to eat it. It washes easily,  however, it quickly gets dirty, and the chickens aren’t happy they can’t scratch around in it like they do when there are shavings and herbs in their nest boxes. So the eggs…

Spring has arrived, bringing with it a contagious energy known as “spring fever.” It’s a time of renewal, growth, and the promise of new beginnings. And what…

Whoopsies I never actually published my 2019 Goals list. that is included here along with a 4 month accountability update. My motivation I  was inspired to put it out there and make my goals public by Becca Moore of The Moore Family Homestead. She said  in an email to me  ” Writing down our goals was the best thing we could have ever done. We took the first 65 days of this year and really laid out what it was we’d like to see happen over the next year. We don’t think all of them will happen, but writing them down…

DIY Upcycled chandelier solar light 4 the chicken coop

Chicken Coop Light Solution   My husband was tossing out a hanging light that was being discarded on one of the job sites.  Then I was inspired and wanted to turn the wire shade part of it into something for the chicken coop.    I have been using some solar bulbs out there that I bought on Amazon.   I was looking at those bulbs and the old light fixture and had an inspiration. Then I took the solar light bulbs and hung them by the hooks they have on them to the metal light fixture and then hung that…
