Wanting To Learn More About Herbs 5 Tips

I am sure you have been hearing a lot about herbs and their uses as natural remedies.

Wanting To Learn More About Herbs

My oldest daughter used to tease me about how old and unused my culinary herbs and spices were. I never used to add anything to my cooking.  She taught me how much better things were when accented by herbal seasonings.

Over the last few years I have been interested when hearing about herbs as medicine for our animals and ourselves.   I started looking around to see what I could find online to teach myself since I could not afford the classes I wanted to sign up for to learn formally.

Herbs & Spices Resources I’ve enjoyed

First I stumbled upon a free course from Herbal Academy of New England. They were offering a free course called Becoming an Herbalist Mini Course.  I took it and enjoyed it though it was more about turning it into a profession. Not really interested in using it as a business. I am  interested in learning about the herbs and use of them for family and homestead uses.

I then saw an ad in Groupon for 5.00 for Master Herbalist Course from the International Open Academy.

Though this is not located in the U.S.A. I took the opportunity and took this course and completed it well within the 3 month time frame. It was something I found  was so very informative and useful. Though I would not consider myself a “Master Herbalist” after taking it personally. I do find it was the most informative class I have taken and very well worth the 5.00. It is normally priced at 100.

I’ve been trying to be very penny pinchy with my money but this 5.00 splurge for me was well worth the wealth of information I was given to work with. Better yet. I felt good about seeing my test scores. No I didn’t get the coveted 100%. I feel pretty darn good about the 97.7% final grade and in completing it in half of the allotted time.

Check it out if you are interested in it… Let me know what you think if you do.

I have to admit I still want to find a way to come up with the money to take courses from The Herbal Academy as well. What can I say I love learning and feel learning from several sources is the best way.

Coming Soon:

Coming soon a few other freebie herbal informational sites I would highly recommend if you are self learning. I also will be making a post of recommended books that have been recommended to me.
