This week I am joining in the Five-Minute Friday linkup with the prompt word, Opportunity. The opportunity is new. New and a little bit scary. There is a new opportunity in each new day that I awake.
Mental Health in our children and teens. Scary rising statistics Revised Sept 2020 Mental Health Matters: September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month!! We need to break the stigma that keeps so many from getting help. There have been some very disturbing statistics in the news lately. I am referring to the statistics of how many youths are suffering from anxiety and how that rate has increased. The myriad of mental health issues our children and youth are suffering is increasing instead of decreasing. What can we do to make a difference? The articles I reference are the numbers of children going…
Create Every Day. May Calendar and activities Roundup “The world’s favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May.” ~ Edwin Way Teal If you go by the old saying “April showers bring may flowers” there should be flowers blooming all over the yard. April was a pretty wet month. I began to think were going to have to build an ark like Noah. Maybe that is why for some reason the ships radio call “May Day May Day” keeps popping into my head whenever I start typing about May first. I do wish I had taught my…

Hold On for One More Day There were moments when the darkness felt heavier than hope. When breathing through the day felt like an act of courage. In those times, one song whispered what Laurie needed to hear: Hold on for one more day. So she held on when letting go felt easier. Then held on through the ache, the fear, and the exhaustion. She held on tightly—because somewhere deep inside, a small voice reminded her: Your life matters. If today feels unbearable, this is your reminder, too.Hang on tightly.Hold on.Don’t let go. You don’t have to see the whole path—Just stay for…
Gluten Free Bread Choices The Beginning: When I first was diagnosed with celiac disease finding things that tasted good was a lot harder than it is now. Celiac was suspected in 2010 and confirmed in 2011. I wrote my first bread review in 2011 when choices were a lot slimmer. You can read that old post here. Lets talk about gluten free bread choices and variety. There are 4 brands that I have purchased. which brand I pick up depends on which store I am at, if I have coupons and what the final price would be after…
A gluten free bread review for you When I first became diagnosed with #Celiac I posted about trouble finding hot dog and hamburger buns to replace the ones I was used to. You can find that post here. Gluten free eating has come a very long way since I was first diagnosed. I am happy to say there are several bread choices now. I was going to talk to you about Canyon Bakehouse #CanyonLoveAtFirstBite but I see that a blog I follow is featuring that one right now and I don’t want to be a copycat. Check out more about…
Good day, Turmeric On Valentines Day, I was out and about running errands and stumbled upon a yummy supplement. There were 8 candies in there, about the size of a peanut M&M. They were a tasty way to get a turmeric supplement. I was really surprised at how good they tasted. Do you use turmeric for a dietary supplement? These were gluten-free so they were safe for me to eat and I don’t regret one bite of that candy-coated supplement. Are you a tea-drinker? I have been drinking more tea and less coffee lately. Here are a few…
A Quick mention: 5 of my favorite products I had a coupon given to me. I thought it was buy one get one for Pearls olives. When I looked at it closer it was for one free. No buying one needed. I looked at the choices and since I have been trying to incorporate more garlic in my diet I opted for the Pearls specialties garlic stuffed queen olives. I found them so good. Better than I had expected. Perfect combination in just one stuffed olive. I expected them to be overpowering but they were the perfect balance. If…

If you are familiar with celiac disease you know what a challenge this has been. The hardest thing I have found to replace is hamburger and hot dog buns. I hear UDI’s makes a good one but I have not been able to locate them in my local stores. My only option has been Kinnikinnick Hot dog rolls. Out of a 5 star rating I give them…
